Completed through the first few nights of the COVID-19 quarantine, “Sin Cara” reflects moments of forced stillness, isolation, and emotional-processing. At seventeen, Taije explored themes of ego-death and spiritual rebirth through facial distortion and vivid abstraction, as a way to digest emotional truths and identity strains.
